Cool Subway Art

My gorgeous friend Carolyn (who I missing sooooo much at the moment) had this photo as her Facebook photo. I think her friend took it.
I LOVE it, so very cool.
I can't wait for our new house to decorate it with cool art like this.
How good is it to be reminded of all these things! I think I need to read it everyday :)

Friday WITL page

Well, in amongst all my photoshop annoyance and things not working for me, I have managed this. It's not how I want to to be as i couldn't make the background paper fit the space hence the white strip at the top that looks like its floating in mid air.....(any tips please) but its a start.

I love this front page from Ali Edwards WITL templates but I'm not sure which format to use yet for the pages/photos for the rest of the day. I really like the way Amy has done her pages HERE using Cathy Z's template, for the way she is able to use so many photos on each page. I have been taking heaps  of photos per day and am not that great at culling photos out. I love the way Di has used her template also especially the double photo on the second page, so now I'm torn. I really wanted to throw myself into this project more and really get the most out of it.  I'm documenting and collecting and am nearly ready to put everything together. How exciting.

Here are some more pics from Friday...

9.10 am- early morning shadows.
(that is my handbag, not a strange growth out the side of my body) :)

12.30pm- Chalk drawing on the rock in our backyard.

1pm- Jumping on the trampoline...so much fun, I've never heard Finn laugh so hard!

 4pm- Nursery Netball training...Go Tahli.

5.20pm- A quick pop into Mum's to say hi after her holiday.

5.50pm- Desperate for a snack...can't wait till dinner.

I hope your all still clicking away. One day to go!

Week in the life Day 1...

Well I am so excited to be participating in

[Insert Ali's groovy banner here....of course I can't seem to make it work!]

Even thought I am doing the 365 project, this is a slightly different perspective as it will show all the routines etc of daily life, it's crazy how much I can fit into one day also!
I have enjoyed caring around my SLR with me as I haven't done that in quite some time, I've just been using my iPhone. I have also been trying to think outside the box and I'm really happy, especially when I think I wish I had these sorts of photos of my mum and her routine as we all know so many things that seem to be "normal" to us change, i.e. even just the look of supermarkets or street scapes etc
Here are just a few shots from WITL Day 1.

6.30am- foggy mirror
 9.10am- preschool drop off
 12 noon- nails
 1.15pm- Food shopping
2.40pm- Beautiful rainbow out the front of my house
6.30pm- Dinner in community with good friends- the best!
Can't wait to put them in the template and get the journaling down and finished. Am thinking if I can work out the PS template, i'll do it as I go (a few days behind, but all good)

Fun in the rain

We have been having some serious rain here in Sydney and the rain has been heavy all week, but for some reason the rain is always heaviest at school drop off and pick up times. :(
I have been wearing my gumboots everyday and my long black parker...I'm sure people are thinking that girl never changes her clothes but of course I do, I just have the best shoes and jacket for this crazy rain.

I feel like at school drop off and pick up I'm always telling the kids "don't get wet" "try to stay dry" or "Finn, stay out of that puddle" mainly because they will be in wet clothes all day. But under my new theory of "live a little" (which I'm adopting as sometimes I feel like I have become a nana with some things and I need to pull back to the young chicky that I am) :) Friday arvo we came straight home and I said to the kids, 'do the quickest change out of your uniform and put your gumboots on'. There was a slight break in the pouring rain (although I was prepared to get under an umbrella to get these shots) and the biggest puddle we could find out the front was the gutter. Now I know what some of you would be thinking eeugh! gutter water! but I say "live a little" and here is what we came up with.

My little quiet, reserved Tahlia got into it the most. Check out the intense look on her face as she tries to slam the puddle as hard as she could to make the biggest splash. You go girl!
 Finn was in heaven too!

I LOVE my camera and the way it captures water this way. Awesome fast shutter speed!
Kyra was a little more reserved but still got into it. I LOVE her red raincoat and was wishing she had red gumboots to match and maybe a spotty umbrella....

I totally love seeing my kids have fun and express pure joy on their faces...

Lets all "live a little" too this week and my challenge to you all is to capture yourself "livin a little" this week, we all know how important it is to get yourself in photos. If it wasn't for the fact that I had to stand out on the road for these shots I would have been in one too.

Have a great week everyone :)

SAG's Challenge #5 - Stamping.

Well some of my talented scrapbooking friends have come up with an awesome site that is dedicated to Simple Scrapbooking...Yip Yay! No of the fuss and fluff on pages that cost a million dollars to make just simple clean lines and a focus on the photo and the journalling. Here is the link so you can go and visit and be inspired. www.simpleaussiegirls.blogspot.com  I apologise for the way the link is written but I can work out how to copy and past on the mac yet :)
Also over at SAG's they are having some great challenges every week. I really want to participate as I know it will be a great way for me to get motivated and come up with good ideas for pages. Challenge #5 was to use stamps on you page and this was an easy one for me as I went a little stamp crazy for a while there. So i looked back through my pages and and found these two. Slightly wonky photos of the 12x12 pages...I have to get back into the swing of photographing straight :)

I used the two sets of circle stamps and the little bird stamp (i LOVE little birds). With my journaling I wrote down all the the words I wanted to use and changed the fonts.

On this page I have used my own personal family stamp that I had made to stamp on the back of envelopes when I post something. Using mine and hubby's names on the top and the kids round the bottom and the year we were married as the est. date.
Thats all for now, will post some fun photos from Friday arvo soon.

Hello Mac

Oh Mac!!!! I have waited sooo long for you to arrive and I'm in love with you already! Actually a little confused.....but in love anyway.

So now that my computer world has leapt forward from the dark ages i've been stuck in I'm planning on getting back on track with EVERYTHING!!! My depressing world of things not working will be no longer. I want to post fun photos I've taken and my 365 project i've been keeping up with and most of all I WANT to scrap and be creative :)

So now to put out the call (or plea) for my Mac friends to help me with a crash course in all things creative in Mac/photos/and pretty much all commands as EVERYTHING is totally different!

My most exciting thing is that I can sit in bed till all hours with my electric blanket on and read blogs and catch up on the creative world.

I'm nearly through the whole set up process and loading all my photos and bookmarks etc, so once all this is finished today....happy days!

Food shopping is "O so fun"...NOT!

A quick post to share my photo from Wednesday the 19th of January.

School holidays + 3 kids + food shopping = this photo....

Finn is losing it as he wants to walk, but then losing it even more and becoming even louder when the girls start laughing at him (not very nice I know but it was funny). Other shoppers must have thought I was crazy. Despite all this we actually had a fun shopping experience as I looked like a goose with my SLR around my neck snapping pictures the whole way around. I even let the girls hold the camera (yes, take a big deep breath and pray they don't drop it) to take picture of what ever food that liked. At the end of the shop I bought them hot chips with chicken salt that smelt amazing (but I resisted, YAY for me) to celebrate :) and Kyra said 'Mum I really loved that'. So sometime it pays to be a goose to create fun experiences for your kids,
I dare you to venture though the supermarket with camera, tourist style, around your neck. Apart from having fun you will capture products and packaging that may change in time to come and see things in a different light.

Just so you know that I didn't torture Finn the whole way round here is what happened
 when the boy runs free...

P.S. I have no say anymore with my Fashionistas and what they wear. I said before we left home that we were only going food shopping but boots, belts and dresses were very necessary. HELP I say, what is ahead of me!
