Fun Food Friday's

Jo's Weetbix slice
Preheat oven to 180 and grease a slice tin ready. Use can use baking paper if you like as the can help your slice come out of the tin easier.

Ingredients.
4 Weetbix
1 cup of SR Flour
3/4 Cup of Brown Sugar
3/4 Cup of Coconut
1/2 cup of milk choc bits
1/2 cup of white choc bits
150g butter
200g block of Cadbury choc for topping

In a bowl crush the weetbix and add/combine flour, coconut, sugar. In a separate bowl melt butter in the microware then add to dry ingredients and combine. Then add the choc bits (if you add them before the butter the butter will melt the bits so add them at this point in the recipe). Mix well. Tip all ingredients out into the slice tin and press down hard and flat.
Bake for 20 mins. (just keep an eye on it around or just before the 20 min mark as all ovens are different and the slice will be too crunchy if overcooked). Leave to cool for a minute and then tip out onto a wire rack. Leave to cool for a bit.
Melt your Cadbury chocolate in a bowl and pour over the top of the slice spreading evenly. As the choc on top is cooling/setting score it with a knife into piece sizes. Your choc will crack if you leave it to cut when it is set. Cut the piece right through to the base when the choc if fully set and serve and most importantly ENJOY!! :)

6 Candles...

I know I say this all the time but time goes so, so fast!
Kyra turned 6 yesterday and all of a sudden seems so grown up. 6 candles on her cake is lots. I so clearly remember every feeling and emotion of her birth and of course being so in love with this precious new little baby girl and then you blink and you are putting 6 candles on her cake. I'm still so in love with my girl and so proud of her in so many ways. Her smile was from ear to ear all day yesterday and was just loving being the birthday girl because on your birthday you get to wear what ever you want, eat what ever you want and do everything first before your brother and sister...and of course there are lots of presents to open :)

Happy Birthday Kyra!

Fun Food Friday's

For a while now I have been planning to post a fun reciepe each week. I have a little stock pile ready now for "Fun Food Friday's".

Each week I'll post "Fun Food" to try including kids meals, yummy desserts, slices etc.

My first Fun Food seriously makes me laugh and even more so because of the speed at which my children ate it. No complaints, just facination! My kids are very plain eaters and are rarely keen to try new things ( I so wish they weren't) , They like their food seperated also which makes things difficult. One day when they are feeling brave i will test out Nicole's kids food ideas on them, they look so yummy I think I want to eat them as my dinner. For the moment we will have to stick to food that makes them laugh when they eat it, hence tricking them into eating it :)

So here it is "Worms in Sausages" as they called it...lovely I know.
Here's how you do it.

1.Chop raw sausages into bite sized pieces (you can also use hotdogs) and grab a handful of raw spaghetti.

2.Then poke the raw spaghetti through the sausage so the sausage is half way down the middle of the stick.

3. Tip into a pot of boiling water for 10 mins.

4. Drain and serve.

Kyra tied the spaghetti in knots and Tahli held it out in long strands, Finn just grabbed it and ate it. I wasn't complaining because dinner was fast and no one complained and everyone ate everything served to them. YAY! Happy mummy!

Here is where I saw the original idea (whilst surfing the net late at night).

Give it a try and let me know what you think. You can leave a comment by clicking on the word 'Comments' just below this post. I would LOVE to know you stopped by :)

Have a great weekend everyone.
I'm having blog clock issues. I did post it on a Friday even though it says Thursday :)

Some more pages from the RW weekend away.

Here are a few more pages I did from the Remember When weekend away.

This first one was a challenge from Lee to complete over the weekend. I love how it turned out with that whirlpool blue colour and i LOVE the Me laser cut. I have so many uses for it...I'll have to get some more.
This next one I feel is a bit out there for me and I'm not 100% sure I like it but it done and my rule with scrapbooking is that I don't change pages once thay are finished. I used a black slick writer to hand write on the photo. The white background paper is one of the new bazzill papers that has a swirl in it. I like the paper as is has a pattern without being too over bearing. The next page makes me laugh as by the end of the weekend we saw the same page
all over the room. Nicole was the original designer and it was lifted by pretty much everyone. I loved her whole page and lifted the colours and everything. I'm not sure if Nicole has posted her page yet, at some point when your checking out Di's blog you'll see it there again. I love a good LO :)The next two are 8.5x11inch pages

BTW... I didn't realise until my photos were down loaded that there was a big smudge on my lens (Finn likes to hold the camera and attempt to take photos....we train them early in this house...and hence the smudge). I'm so thankful that is was just photos of pages and not precious photos of the kids etc. So my tip for the day is to go right now and clean your lens as a smudge doesn't show up when your looking through the viewfinder and you can't get rid of it after the photo is taken. You'll be glad that you did.
