Food shopping is "O so fun"...NOT!

A quick post to share my photo from Wednesday the 19th of January.

School holidays + 3 kids + food shopping = this photo....

Finn is losing it as he wants to walk, but then losing it even more and becoming even louder when the girls start laughing at him (not very nice I know but it was funny). Other shoppers must have thought I was crazy. Despite all this we actually had a fun shopping experience as I looked like a goose with my SLR around my neck snapping pictures the whole way around. I even let the girls hold the camera (yes, take a big deep breath and pray they don't drop it) to take picture of what ever food that liked. At the end of the shop I bought them hot chips with chicken salt that smelt amazing (but I resisted, YAY for me) to celebrate :) and Kyra said 'Mum I really loved that'. So sometime it pays to be a goose to create fun experiences for your kids,
I dare you to venture though the supermarket with camera, tourist style, around your neck. Apart from having fun you will capture products and packaging that may change in time to come and see things in a different light.

Just so you know that I didn't torture Finn the whole way round here is what happened

P.S. I have no say anymore with my Fashionistas and what they wear. I said before we left home that we were only going food shopping but boots, belts and dresses were very necessary. HELP I say, what is ahead of me!

The Glass is Half Full....

The glass is half full not half empty! That is what i'm telling myself this year. I'm running with good positive thoughts to keep me going this year and finding the good out of any situation. To be honest, last year I struggled and retreated for a while, but I've realised that the only one who can pull you out of a low situation is YOU and the decisions you make going forward and maybe if you can't help yourself then who will?
I LOVE reading Ali's blog and she is creative and positive all in one and especially took on this post of finding a word to cling to for the year. HERE is a list of suggested words from her to look through if you like. My word for the year is Clarity.  I need to look for Clarity in all situations, to be clear about the perspective I'm seeing and make sure I read people correctly. Do you have a word for the year? I would love to hear it and why it is important to you.
With so many crazy things going on around the world, in peoples lives I know and in QLD with all those heart breaking floods and loss it is a jolt back into reality as to what is important and the things that last and that for me is relationships. With my husband and children especially but also with my family and friends. You are all important to me! My memories are important as they are 'a window into the sole' or a 'time capsule' of moments that to quickly can be forgotten, time is precious. My kids don't care if my hair is done right or whether I'm wearing the right thing they just want me to play with them and be in the moment....that means ME in alot more photos this year! With all this in mind I'm taking on the 365 project as my one main project this year and if I don't get through anything else then thats just how it is and I'm ok with that. I have plans for pages and a million fresh ideas running through my head and I'm planning to get to them too but I'm really motivated to work on 365 with alot energy :) I have LOVED Di's inspiring 365 blog for 2010 "day-by-day" check it out if you haven't already. I especially love the non posed every day moments that she has captured which are almost more important than events. I have an album all sorted, its not as flash as the Becky kit but will do the job just fine.

So I want to inspire you all to jump on board  with the 365 project, it's not too late to catch up ( i'm sure you have all taken lots of photos already this year :) It will be an amazing journal of moments captured by photos and words that you can't put a price on in years to come.

Here is one of my favourite pics of the year so far taken my hubby Nick (who is on duty as of Jan 1 to grab the camera without being asked to, to take photos with me in them when self timer is just not an option) and I must say he is doing well so far.
